How AI Pet Matching Works
Report
You tell us a pet is missing, or that you have found one. The report goes into a private case straight away, and you are given a case reference immediately.
Compare
Each new report is compared against open cases across the metro — photographs, description, place and timing together.
Human review
A person checks every report before it is published, and every possible match before anyone is contacted. The system produces leads, never identifications.
Reconnect
Contact is designed to pass through a protected relay, so neither side is ever shown the other’s phone number, email or address. We cannot send email or text messages yet, so news reaches an owner when they next open their case page rather than as an alert.
A possible match is a lead for a person to check. It is never a decision about whose pet an animal is. Read how matching works in detail.
Exact Locations Stay Private
Every point on this map is deliberately imprecise. What is published is a generalized area, not the place a pet went missing — and never a home address.
The shaded ring around a selected pet shows that generalized area. The dashed ring is a suggested search zone: a search-planning aid based on species and how long the pet has been gone. It is not a prediction of where the animal is.

- Sighting reports are private. They are held for the owner to read on their own case page — we cannot email or text anyone yet.

Shelter listings appear on this map only where a shelter has connected a feed or given us a figure directly. We publish counts in exactly two situations, and nothing else:
